Changemakers' Diary
Changemakers' Diary: Get Involved
We started our collaboration with Connecting Dreams Foundation under the Kilkari project in January 2020.
Initially the volunteers came to Gyandeep and taught the children in groups of 4 to 5. Each Volunteer came once a week, every week. It was a big support and was working very well. Children got individual attention and were helped with various activities.
This continued in February also and then in March the lockdown happened.
We discussed with the Kilkari head Nishita. She said that the volunteers are ready to help the children online. We discussed with her and made a plan to somehow help the children and not let them have a gap in their education. Gyandeep provided the children with phones and CDF provided them with volunteers. This way every child has a volunteer from CDF/ Kilkari guiding him/ her. We can see the positive change in our children.
It is not easy as these volunteers are also students and managing this along with their studies and current circumstances. There are ups and downs and learning along the way as both children and volunteers cope with the challenges of online education.
There were also occasional issues of behaviour, responsiveness, sincerity and understanding each other's expectations. The volunteers have responded very well and are doing a great job.
We thank CDF and Kilkari for this support !!
Nishita and Simran are excellent leaders and are coordinating very well with the volunteers and Gyandeep. They are always ready to help!!

Changemakers' Diary: Welcome
In January 2020 we collaborated with CDF Kilkari project and started working with around 50 Volunteers. Initially it was overwhelming. It was completely a new experience for all of us.
We started settling in the routine with them and suddenly COVID-19 lockdowns started. Kilkari Volunteers were Godsend angels for us in that difficult time. They accepted our request to give more time to teach and mentor one student each.
What we liked most about coordinators Nishita and Simran that, they are most responsible, energetic and flexible. They helped us in the transition from classroom to online teaching.
Since March 2020 we are continuously evolving into this new system of work. Many kilkari volunteers are creating miracles in our children's lives. Many are showing great resilience against all odds. Most of them are making a difference in some way or the other. We found this organisation very cooperative to work with.
We wish CDF and Kilkari Pathshala a very successful journey ahead.

Changemakers' Diary: Welcome
In January 2020, Gyandeep Growth Foundation entered into a Collaboration with ‘Connecting Dreams Foundation’ (CDF) under the ‘Kilkari Project’ which turned out to be a boon for us.
The young and energetic Volunteers of CDF started coming to Gyandeep at the time and day allotted to them to teach our children individually. Everything was going smooth till March, 2020.
Due to Covid pandemic, Lockdown happened and we were in dilemma as to how to teach the children individually at Gyandeep.
We deliberated with Kilkari Head, Nishita as to how to proceed further to teach the children. It was resolved to help the children with their studies by providing them smart phone and to conduct ONLINE teaching under the guidance of the volunteers.
For this purpose, a smart phone was provided to the children and a volunteer was allotted.
Initially, there were challenges with online teaching, however gradually it was set right. The volunteers spared time from their busy schedule to teach the children on whatsapp, video, zoom etc. The children soon started responding very well to the volunteers and now we can see the sincerity in their studies and a change in their overall personality.
We thank all the lovely volunteers, Nishita and Simran for doing such a wonderful job.
Thank you Connecting Dreams and Kilkari for your continuous support and bringing a change in the Children.
You all are “RAY OF HOPE & GUIDING LIGHT” for Gyandeep.
Thanks

Changemakers' Diary: Welcome
Gyandeep growth foundation is primarily engaged in educating underprivileged children of the area. Dedicated team of housewives are making their best efforts to teach these children, to help in their school studies and skill development. ‘Connecting Dream Foundation (CDF)’ under Kilkari Project collaborated with Gyandeep to help in their activities specially in their education.
Since January 2020, CDF provided young volunteers (mostly college students) to Gyandeep for conducting the classes for these children. Each volunteer was provided number of students. Volunteers started with sincerity hard work and patience. Then came lockdown due to Corona.
Volunteers are young, tech-savvy and they took over to teach online. Each family of children are provided with a mobile smartphone with internet data and they are kept busy by volunteers in their studies in spite their schools are closed. When the schools are open on line, volunteers are helping them to complete their home work on line and also taking classes on line. These volunteers have to deal with small children, to find new innovative ways to take classes on line, and to be patience when teaching / explaining to them. It is a tremendous courageous job to teach these children on mobiles and to keep them busy in their studies. Gyandeep is very thankful to these volunteers and CDF for such help. We hope that this co-operation will continue in future and will become an integral part of Gyandeep.

Changemakers' Diary: Welcome
Gyandeep Growth Foundation in collabration with Connecting Dreams Foundation began taking classes for Gyandeep children from January 2020.The volunteers under the Kilkari Project were a blessing in disguise for Gyandeep. The VolunteerTs were young, energetic, dynamic and technology savy who connected with the children to teach them.
When everything seems to be taking shape, the physical classes had to be stopped due to corona lockdown.
The lockdown situation put a big questionmark on the education of Gyandeep children. We were worried .Gyandeep continued to teach children online. This is where the Kilkari Project volunteers proved their mettle. They connected with children ,put in lot of efforts in teaching the children on phone through whatsapp and other apps. The volunteers cleared the initial hiccups of online teaching and succesfully brought the children onboard.
The Kilkari Volunteers are dedicated and sincere in their work. They are putting in lot of efforts inspite of their own college and their academic work.
As I said in the beginning, the volunteers are a blessing in disguise for Gyandeep Family
Thanks for the contribution

Changemakers' Diary: Welcome
We as core members of Gyandeep growth foundation, were really trying to make the most for our children, were really doubting ourselves at one point, whether we are doing the right thing for them. At that point kilkari volunteers came to us as a boon. The girls who came to teach our children were a gift for our children and they were really sincere and dedicated. After March due to COVID when we had to close our classes in the evening we were really worried for our children, because we know, if there is a break in their studies we have to again start from the beginning. Kilkari volunteers were sweet enough to continue their volunteering virtually. So we gave each family a smart phone so that they can connect with their volunteers virtually. So the children are really happy to have their didi back and they are getting the maximum benefit. I really hope the volunteers are also benefiting from teaching our children.
GIVING IS MORE SATISFYING THAN GETTING
We will grow together!!
